The service life of the door is determined not only by its quality, but by the correct installation. If mistakes were made during the installation of the door, this will reduce the quality and shorten the service life. An important factor is heat loss, which is possible in the case of poor-quality door installation.

To protect yourself from mistakes during installation, it is better to ask professionals for help. This will lead to additional costs, but guarantees the quality of installation.

All of the mentioned is related to any type of door: entrance and interior. However, when installing one or another type there are certain rules and nuances. Both the installation process and the preparatory work for its implementation are of great importance. In this article we will introduce to you all the rules and tips.

Step by step guide on installation of exterior doors

Plastic entrance doors are very popular in the modern market. They are installed not only in offices or on balconies, but are also widely used as entrance doors. This structure looks quite stylish and has a number of advantages. To install the entrance door, you need to prepare certain tools:

  • hammer;
  • bubble or laser level;
  • cordless;
  • screwdriver;
  • anchor dowels;
  • screws;
  • mounting foam;
  • sealant;
  • measuring tape;
  • pencil;
  • gloves;
  • vspacers with which you can fix the box.

Installing the entrance door may seem very difficult at first glance, but if you approach the issue correctly and prepare the necessary tools, the process will not take much time. Now you can proceed to the preparation stage:

  1. First of all, prepare the workplace and free up all the space. Next, you need to clean the hole from dust and plaster. If necessary, use a primer. Installation of aluminum doors does not require the expansion of the doorway, which saves a lot of time. When installing the box, it is necessary to leave a hole between it and the wall of approximately 15 mm.
  2. The next step for installing the door is to remove the door leaf from the hinges so that the box would be separate from the leaf. In this way, installation will be much more convenient.
  3. Prepare fasteners - anchors or brackets. When choosing the first type, it is necessary to make holes for screws. If the choice falls on the brackets, you need to insert them from the opposite side into the grooves and drill the screws through the box.
  4. Install screws depending on which side the support will be fixed. First you need to fasten the upper part, then the lower part.
  5. Next, you can proceed directly to installation of the entrance door.

The installation of an entrance door will be done perfectly if you follow the advice of professionals.

Important! It is not necessary to tighten the screws completely into the box. It is better to leave 2-3 mm. on the outside. The blades, which are installed between the hole and the door, are simply foamed and remain inside.

Now you can start installing the box. For this you need:

    1. Install the structure in the hole and align it so that there will be an equal distance on both sides.
    2. Next, adjust the plastic frame or box with a level and fix them with wedges. Place the wedges or fixing plates of the required height on the bottom of the doorway, and place the box on them.
    3. Professional installers of most door models fix the box to the walls with mounting plates (one edge is fixed to the mounting part of the box, and the other edge of the plate is fixed to the wall with a dowel for quick installation). Temporary fixation plates add rigidity. Then the structure is checked once again with a bubble level. After that it is fixed with anchors to the wall through special mounting holes in the box.
    4. With the help of a level, once again make sure that the structure is set correctly. Fix the fasteners without tightening the screws up to the end. Finally, screw a couple of screws on each side using a screwdriver.

In this way, you can easily and simply install the box. After that you can start the final stage of door installation.

At the final stage you need to:

  1. Insert the dowel, tap it a little with a hammer, and then slightly tighten the screws from the side where the hinges are located.
  2. Next, put on the leaf, check the uniformity of the gaps between the leaf and the box. You should also make sure that the door opens and closes smoothly.
  3. Cut the blades or knock them to the level of the box. Professional installers use plastic blades because wood has the ability to expand and contract. This can cause the appearance of voids and gaps that let cold into the room and contribute to the appearance of mold.
  4. Foam the gaps with half the volume of the seam from the outside, and then the second half from the inside. Foaming is carried out in two stages to avoid the formation of voids and air bubbles in the foam. Please note that the leaf must remain closed until being completely dry. When the foam is completely dry, you can cut off its remains.
  5. All joints must be sealed. For this, a sealant based on acrylic, silicone or polyurethane is used. This is done in order to protect the buildings and structure from moisture.

The entrance door is equipped with fittings.If it is desired, a door closer can also be installed. It is very important to correctly approach the process of installing the entrance door, because heat and sound insulation will depend on the correctness of installation.

Interior doors - tips on installing interior doors

When choosing interior doors, the choice usually falls on inexpensive and practical models. The most popular interior doors that meet these characteristics are doors from the REHAU profile. Such doors are best suited for utility or sanitary facilities, bathrooms, medical institutions or rooms that are not heated in the cold season. Such doors have a number of advantages:

  • resistance to high humidity and deformation;
  • they are very easy to care for and clean;
  • long service life;
  • provide reliable sound insulation;
  • protect the building from moisture, wind and dust.

Plastic interior doors are really very convenient, but they must be installed correctly. First of all, prepare the necessary accessories that will be needed for doors installation:

  • a pencil with a ruler, a tape measure and a compass;
  • screwdriver or drill;
  • sealant, dowels, mounting foam;
  • rubber hammer, building level, cordless, gloves, chisel.

Before directly starting the installation, it is necessary to take measurements. The final result will depend on the initial work.

Important! When receiving an order, check the integrity of the block and the packaging. Make sure that the dimensions of the door fully correspond to the measurements. All small details must be present - screws, plates, etc.

Before proceeding to the installation of interior doors, it is necessary to prepare the openings. The working area must be cleaned of dirt and dust, all previously installed structures must be removed. The entire area must be clean and dry, as this can significantly affect the final result.

Installation of interior doors is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  1. After preparing the hole, a frame is inserted, which is fixed with screws and gradually leveled. You need to level the structure so that there is the same distance on both sides. The screws do not need to be tightened very tightly, because then you will not be able to adjust the position of the door.
  2. Plastic wedges and spacers are installed along the entire frame. The door aligns across the width of the opening at the top and bottom, ensuring a tight fit around the entire perimeter.
  3. Next, the level is checked and the base is leveled. If the box is standing according to the rules, fix it with a screwdriver, but do not tighten the fasteners all the way (the final fastening must be done at the last stage of installation). WARNING! Try not to deform the frame.
  4. The next step is to drill the holes and fastening.

You can install interior doors yourself. If you do not have the necessary skills or you are worried about the result, you should seek help from professionals. For this, it is enough to leave an application on the website, order a door with installation and wait for specialists who will quickly and efficiently install interior doors in your home.

Warm doors installation. What is it and how should it be done?

Warm installation of external doors is called installation, which ensures the absence of heat leaks from the room and the ingress of cold from the outside. This technology provides a reduction in heat loss and protection against moisture. The warm installation of the door will ensure the preservation of heat in the room and thereby save money on heating.

Warm installation of doors is carried out with the help of self-expanding and vapor-hydro-insulation tapes. But it should be noted that when buying cheap plastic doors with minimal equipment (for example, a basic PVC profile with a depth of 60 mm and a single-chamber glazing) or other budget models, warm installation is not advisable. This technology is used to increase the thermal insulation of so-called "warm" structures.

List of necessary tools for warm installation of external doors:

  • Perforator, drill (depending on the diameter of the fasteners);
  • Level;
  • Screwdriver;
  • The nail polish remover;
  • Pencil;
  • Measuring tape;
  • Knife;
  • Hammer;
  • Household atomizer.

Step-by-step warm installation of balcony or exterior doors looks like this:

  1. Measure the distance with the help of caliper, tape measure or construction angle from the inside of the door box, from the end of the outer part to the edge of the inner part at three points (the top of the profile, the bottom, and in the middle) on all profiles of the door box (the distance must be the same with an error of ±0.5 mm).
  2. Install the handles on the door leaf. Stick masking tape on the front and inner sides of the door box in places where the painted surfaces of the product are likely to come into contact with before the use of mounting foam or cement-sand mortar. Protect the holes with masking tape for the anchor bolts and frame dowels in the inner frame.
  3. Glue pre-compressed sealing tape (PSUL) on the lath from the inner side along the perimeter of the outer frame, departing from the edge by 2-3 mm. Note: the surface to which the tape is attached must be clean and dry.
  4. Fill the inner and outer frame of the box with mounting foam, avoiding places with holes for anchor bolts and frame dowels. WARNING! Box profiles must be completely filled with mounting foam. It is not allowed to get foam on the front surfaces of the product.
  5. Glue the vapor barrier tape to the bend of the inner box around the perimeter: glue the lock and hinge profile exactly along their length, the upper profile with a margin of 100-150 mm on each side.
  6. Cover the floor of the mounting hole to the width of the door frame with an EPDM waterproofing membrane. Insert the box into the door profile.
  7. Without changing the position of the box, drill holes in the wall from the side of the hinged profile through the mounting holes.
  8. Fill the inner and outer frame of the box with mounting foam, avoiding places with holes for anchor bolts and frame dowels. WARNING! The profiles of the box (support profiles, the upper part of the box and the threshold) must be completely filled with mounting foam. Areas not filled with mounting foam should not remain. It is not allowed to get foam on the front surfaces of the product.
  9. Glue the vapor barrier tape to the bend of the inner box around the perimeter: glue the lock and hinge profile exactly along their length, the upper profile with a margin of 100-150 mm on each side. The width of the tape is selected as follows: 45 mm must be added to the width of the mounting gap (rounded up).

Important! The door opening after installation should not have holes, peeling and other defects that led to the creation of thrug-blowing.
