Automatic sliding door
Automatic doors can be available in one of the following options:
- swinging;
- revolving;
- sliding.
In hypermarkets and restaurants, airports and business centres, hotels and shopping and entertainment complexes - you will find such doors everywhere. They are installed at the entrance to a room and aim to solve several tasks at the same time: automatically opening/closing when people pass through them, providing a safe passage, keeping the room warm in winter. As a rule, such entrance groups can additionally be equipped with air heat curtains, activated when the door slides open, letting people out or into the room.
Device and principle of operation
The basis of the operation of any automatic door is an electrically driven mechanism that drives the door leaves. The signal is sent by a sensor-radar, which reacts to any movement near the door (in some cases access control systems are used instead of a sensor).
The advantage of such a mechanism is that it can be connected to both the security console and the fire alarm system.
Modes of operation
Standard automatic sliding doors can have five modes of operation, which are installed manually by means of a switch. The switch can be placed on the wall next to the door and can be built into the control mechanism:
- Automatic door opening/closing (response to people entering/leaving);
- "Closed only" mode;
- "Open only" mode;
- Door operation mode in winter (while the leaf does not extend all the way open);
- Door operation mode "exit only".
Configurable automatic door functions
In addition, there are configurable sliding door functions with which parameters can be set, such as the sensitivity of the sensors of the sensors, their area of operation, the speed of opening and closing of the valves. All these functions aim to make the operation of the door as comfortable as possible. As a rule, these settings require the presence of additional devices - programmers.
The construction of such doors can vary in design, but in total there are three groups:
- Aluminium sash with double-glazed windows;
- Aluminium sash with toughened glass;
- Sash without frame (only toughened glass is used).
Security system
When it comes to work safety, the configuration includes a special photocell (the so-called light barrier), registering the presence of obstacles when closing the valves. For example, if the sash is open and there is someone or something, the door will not close until this "obstacle" leaves the door. In addition, if the wing encounters an obstacle while driving, they will immediately disperse in different directions. Such security measures are provided to avoid possible traumatic situations.
Incidentally, if such doors are installed in fire aisles, there is a special model with a panic function for them (the door can be opened like a normal swinging door).
Equipment
As standard, automatic doors consist of wings, control mechanism, sensor sensors (2 pcs.), mode switch, electric lock, safety barrier and battery for emergency opening.
